A Kitty in the City
The cat howls on the fence in a daring serenade
As the widowed man pursues his sleep when light begins to fade
In the city
What a pity
Cause the man needs some love
Why not from a kitty?
A kitty in the city
If he wasn’t so convinced
That his emotions were safer fenced
He just might be willing
To start a thrilling
And fulfilling
Friendship with a cat
A love that takes top billing
From a kitty
A kitty in the city
Instead he grabs an old shoe
But his aim wasn’t true
And the cat stopped singing
The silence was ear ringing
A rattled paw was flinging
At a broken man
Whose heart had long stopped singing
Suddenly the man began to cry
And his rage would fade and die
Because the vocal furball
Had made him feel the right kind of small
Which was not so bad at all
So it followed his heart would melt
And love flowed like a spring waterfall
From a kitty
A kitty in the city
No longer a pity
Remember this ditty
Not for being witty
Just recall a kitty
A kitty in the city
No longer a pity
A lonely man loved by a kitty
